The title of this work is derived from the ‘Morning Poem’ by Mary Oliver.
“If it is your nature
to be happy
you will swim away along the soft trails
for hours, your imagination
alighting everywhere. “
The piece is a reliving of landscape in the marks seen and made by ocean-air-eaten things, the light when looking up from underwater after a wave crashes over you and the spray from the off-shore that sends the lacy foam edges of the rip curl back over its shoulders.
