Moon Reflected in a Flowing Stream
Wood-based lithographic and woodcut print
480 x 640 mm
Variable Edition of 3
This edition is inspired by a Wabi sensibility: the appreciation of transient beauty.
In the exploration of puddles and outdoor experiences with my toddler during the Cape's winter rains, I found myself relishing the abundance of water after such a long period of drought. In remembering the conservation of my use of water only a year before, I found new beauty in the streams that filled the mountain paths.
Indulging in the long gloom that characterises a winter moonrise, this print combines a lithographic and woodcut technique to evoke the beauty of the moon reflected in running water.
